Oh, the things you do

This week we've gathered so many stories and I keep meaning to share them so here goes:

-On Friday daddy and Grandma took you to see Dr T for a recheck of your ears and while you were in the exam room waiting for Dr T you were all over the place playing with toys and books. All of the sudden you stopped what you were doing and said "uh-oh bubble" and then proceeded to fart. This was repeated today when you were in bed with us and said "bubble" before you pooped. When and where you made the connection I have no idea!

-For a while now you've shown us that you have quite a temper and while it really isn't funny we find ourselves laughing at your displays, one of which is to kick items. It is funny because of how deliberate you are. For instance today you had a glass of milk but wanted daddy to pour it into another cup. When he refused and handed you back the original cup you set it down, leaned back and kicked it across the room. I'm not sure what you are trying to accomplish with this but for now we think it is funny.

-You've also stepped into your first responsibility around the house (I would call it a chore but your dad wants us to call it "a fun way to help mommy and daddy" so we are compromising on responsibility) which is feeding the animals. For a while you've been interested in what we are doing when we feed the animals and apparently you pay a lot more attention than we gave you credit for as one morning when I was done feeding the cats you started putting the lid back on their food. Not a big deal except that the lids screw onto their food containers and you had threaded it correctly and were turning it the right way. Now every morning as soon as we have you dressed you head into the cats room where you open their container, scoop the food, step over to their bowls, feed them and then close the container. You also help with the process downstairs with the dog. They LOVE that you are doing this for them as you have a habit of feeding them multiple times throughout the day; we'll turn around to find you at the dog's food starting to feed her.

-Today your daddy went up to check on you during your nap and came down laughing because you had moved your laundry basket into the middle of your room and were asleep in your empty laundry basket. You'll often play before your nap which we are OK with because I know you will lie down and nap after awhile and you usually end up back in your bed but apparently today you lost steam while you were playing and just fell asleep there!

What an enjoyable way to start my Saturday reading all about Julie! Once again I feel like I'm there. Thanks for taking the time so we can watch her grow up from far away.
