Alright, I haven't written for a while and there are a few reasons for that. First is the fact that the weather has been absolutely beautiful and I just haven't taken the time to sit inside and write (I know, I could take it outside since we have wireless but whenever I'm outside with you there is usually dirt and water involved and I don't want to risk a computer being a casualty of the destroyer aka Julie) This summer was unseasonably cool until the week after Labor Day ... wouldn't you know the past two weeks have been amazing!
Another reason I haven't written lately is due to the complete 180 that occurs to our schedules post Labor Day ... your dad goes back to school and EVERYTHING changes. It isn't as simple as him just going back to work because now my morning changes too. During the summer all I have to do is get up, get ready, make coffee and leave. Your dad takes care of getting you up and getting the two of you going. However, when he is in school he leaves before 7:00am so now I have to get up and get dressed while sharing the bathroom with him and then get you up and ready so I can take you to daycare before leaving for work ... whew ... it's exhausting and those are just the changes to our morning schedule!
The biggest reason I haven't written is that I'm exhausted ... first and foremost from the changes to our schedule but also due to you ... that's right, I'm blaming you for my exhaustion. You see, over Labor Day weekend we about killed you because you wouldn't take a nap. Let me tell you child, it is not a pretty picture around our house by 3:00pm when you haven't napped. Sunday night over Labor Day weekend we went to dinner with Grandma and Grandpa Lawatsch and Kristen since she was leaving for North Carolina the next day. While there I was talking about your not napping when it dawned on me that in addition to not napping you had been hitting your head a lot - this seems to be your sign for things hurting - like your ears! Yep, give me the mom of the year award, when you don't feel well you walk around hitting yourself on the head! That night I took you to the urgent care where they confirmed that you have an ear infection and started you on antibiotics. This isn't your first ear infection but still I'm not concerned. Your dad had tubes in his ears as a kid so there is definitely that possibility but we'll just have to wait and see. Today is the last day of your 10 day course of antibiotics and you seem to be doing much better. Marcie has started having you nap only once, mid day and she says you are taking great naps and going right down with this new plan. However, now you aren't sleeping at night ... what gives? I have no idea! Last night you slept all the way through but Saturday, Sunday and Monday nights this week you would not go to sleep or would go down and get up again and again and again and, well, I guess you get the point. Hopefully you are feeling better, have a consistent nap schedule and will once again be my happy little girl!
