How far you've come in the last 16 months ... and so much of it seems to be in the past few months. Lately I keep looking at you and finding myself surprised by how big you are and how much you can do. You are beginning to associate being told to do something with the action. For instance, when we say are you ready for bed you head to the freezer in the kitchen to get your nuk since that is where they are kept and you only get your nuk when you are sleeping. You also head to the fridge when we get out one of your sippy cups, ready for the milk or juice that is coming. You eat just about anything we give you although you really don't seem to care for meat. I'm not too concerned about it though because you eat EVERYTHING else, including a lot of things I don't think I ate as a kid such as black beans and hummus. Quite often we can ask you if you want your diaper changed and you'll lie down on the floor if your diaper is dirty and you want a new one. Unfortunately you don't communicate to us in any way if you don't need a new diaper so we are often wondering if you don't need a diaper or if you are just ignoring us. There are times though that we know you need a new diaper because you are quite obvious about your pooping. You squat wherever you are and do your business quite often with some accompanying facial expressions.
This weekend we went swimming at Zack and Leigh's house on Friday night and again today. You absolutely love the water and show no fear of being in the pool which is great but also a little worrisome. I'll have to look into swim lessons before too long. When we weren't at Zack and Leigh's you were playing in your blow up pool on our deck. Not quite as fun but you're still happy as can be. When we were over at Zack and Leigh's today the Mittino's were there too. This was Tony's first time in the water and he was a little hesitant at first, however, he was very intrigued watching you in the water and seemed better after awhile. You two spent some time playing together in the yard too. You played together with a ball and with your little golf set. The best was watching you two play with rocks ... I'm uploading the video because you were too cute. We were all discussing what your relationship will be like when you grow up because it is so fun watching the two of you interact with each other. Will you enjoy playing with each other or will you want nothing to do with each other?
Your teeth are coming in and you now have 4 teeth on the top and 4 on the bottom in front. In addition you have your right upper and lower molars and your left lower molar. I have a feeling your left upper is coming in and that is part of why you've been sleeping so much. You've been taking 2-3 hour naps during the day and sleeping 11-12 hours each night.
You are starting to talk more and more each week. I still can't tell a lot of what you are saying but can hear doggy, kitty, dada, mama, that and yes. We're working on some please and thank you as well as up. Right now you tend to come and tug on my legs and bounce when you want to be picked up but you don't say anything.
