It's almost Mother's Day!

Wow ... I can't believe that tomorrow is Mother's Day and I'm actually a mother (or Mom's Day as they are now calling it at Hallmark) I remember being at Chrissy and David Avalos' wedding last Memorial Day and holding Keegan. Everyone was joking about how I had baby fever and it wouldn't be too long before we were having kids. At the time Steve didn't have a job yet, we lived on Allen St and really were just starting to think about kids. Fast forward to now ... less than a year later and Steve has a job, we've sold a house, bought a house and moved and have Julie. Of all the crazy and amazing things to happen this year Julie is by far the best of them! Just today Steve was holding her and she smiled at him and I felt my heart melt all over again. I can't believe how much I can love someone and the lengths I will go to for her. I'm not the only one. Yesterday and today Julie has been basking in the love of her Great Grandparents and Grandparents. I am having so much fun watching everyone interact with her, it is amazing what a baby brings out in all of us. Today at lunch Julie was with one set of Great Grandparents and both sets of Grandparents. What an amazing family we have. Julie is so blessed. She still has 5 Great Grandparents. I have memories of one of my Great Grandparents and hope that Julie will grow up knowing that she is spending time with her Great Grandparents. It really is an amazing concept when you think about it ... holding your child's child's child ... got that one? When I look at her I can not picture a day when she has children, let alone a day that her children have children.
Ok, so I've gone off on a tangent. Back to Mother's Day. In addition to being amazed that I am a Mother this year I am so excited that we get to spend Mother's Day with my mom, mother in law and Grandma. So far this has been a great weekend and I hope it continues to be just as great!
