3 months old!

Lily is just over 3 months old and I am amazed at the changes! She is now starting to spend more time playing on her play mat or in her swing and is really intrigued by the toys which is one big difference in her personality from Julie. When Jules was a baby I really don't remember her spending much time playing with toys that were dangled in front of her or paying attention to things like her mobile, however, Lily is fascinated by toys in front of her and is quite content in her crib staring at her mobile. We've gotten into a nice routine at night where she spends some time in her crib playing with that while we read Jules her book and put her to bed which is really nice because we get some one on one time with Jules that way.

We do need to start working on having Lily spend more time on her tummy because right now she is unhappy whenever we put her on her tummy which is apparently pretty common with kids who've had problems with reflux. When we do put her on her tummy she is getting pretty good at propping herself up a little bit but hasn't really started to try to roll over. I feel like Julie was close to rolling over at this point and definitely recognize that they will each do things at their own pace at different times but I still can't help but compare what Lily is doing with my memory of what Jules did.

This video was taken tonight while we were eating dinner and Lily played on her mat, although this was towards the end of her being content so she isn't smiling like she had been previously. If you listen in the background Jules tells Steve that she is done with her dinner and then turns around and tells me that she is hungry ... this has become a ritual every night where not long after we finish eating she announces that she is hungry and then proceeds to throw a tantrum like we are starving her when we don't give her more food. Gotta love it!
