7 weeks

Lily, you are now 7 weeks old and I think you are starting to settle into some patterns. The best part of this is the fact that the last two nights you've slept through the entire night (8 hours Friday night and 7 last night). I feel like a new person with that much sleep! Today you slept a lot during the day while we ran errands so I'm not all that convinced that we'll have another full night but we'll see.
Last night you and Jules stayed with Uncle Joel and Aunt Jess while dad and I went to dinner with Zach and Leigh. You were there for close to 5 hours and I was really nervous about how you did, knowing how frustrating it can be when you won't stop crying and just want to be held. However, when we picked you up they said you were great and had only cried a little bit but stopped when they fed you. Jules spent the rest of the night and a good part of today with them so you had some time with just dad and I. Joel is already looking forward to the day that you can both stay with them and I know you will have a great time.
You have started smiling, real smiles and making some noises. Tonight we had a great moment while dad and I were taking your clothes off for your bath and you smiled at him and made these really sweet cooing noises. You've still had some rough episodes of gas that result in a couple of hours of crying but those are getting further apart. I'm still following a slightly reduced diet but can't say for sure that any particular food group is responsible for your discomfort so I've started to add things back in (like coffee which along with having a couple of full nights sleep is contributing to me feeling so much better).
