I want to wish a happy belated 3rd birthday to Julie! Your birthday came and went in a blur for me but I trust that you didn't feel the least bit let down given the amount of attention you were receiving from all of your grandparents and others. Going forward it will be interesting to see how we end up celebrating your birthdays since they are only 3 days apart.

I came home from the hospital on 2/26/11 which was the same day Grandma and Papa Sweat were scheduled to arrive for their visit which was planned figuring Lillian would be here (man, that was close) and that they'd be here for Julie's birthday. That day we didn't really do much, just concentrated on settling in at home and Julie stayed with Grandma and Papa Sweat at Uncle Joel's for the night. On Sunday everyone came over to our house and late afternoon Grandma and Papa Lawatsch came over too with Julie's birthday presents (a trampoline for outside and a train set for Grandma's house). Because everyone was at our house we decided to go to dinner at Red Robin for Julie's birthday which was a great time!

On Monday, Julie's actual birthday we had a more low key celebration with just Grandma and Papa Sweat. Julie got to help Grandma decorate some cupcakes and then we went to dinner at Cancun after which we began opening presents. At this time Julie was heading into present overload since she had been receiving presents almost nonstop since Saturday, some for being a big sister and some for her birthday. It has been absolutely amazing how much love has been shown to us for both of the girls.
