We're wrapping up Thanksgiving weekend and it has been a wonderful one! Starting with picking you up from Marcie's on Wednesday she was giving me the run down on your day and she said you had just pooped which I initially assumed meant you'd pooped in your pants but she quickly clarified that you'd gone into the bathroom on your own and pooped in the potty! I was so excited, I could not believe it had finally happened at Marcie's and to celebrate you got to go to the store and get Elmo panties. We headed straight to Kohl's and picked out Elmo panties and you also got a new dress. When we got home you were so excited to show them to daddy and tell him how you'd pooped on the potty and then you got to wear your new dress on Thursday.
On Thursday we headed to Great Grandma Lawatsch's for Thanksgiving dinner and you seemed to have a great day. You were great in the car and played hard with Grandma, Papa and Great Grandma. You were also taken with Yon Seung, Uncle Ron's wife and spent quite a bit of time playing with her. There is a small fountain full of rocks in the living room and you spent a long time cleaning the rocks and just being excited to be able to play in water. At dinner you didn't really eat, just 3 dinner rolls and you didn't want any pumpkin pie, just ice cream and whip cream. However, on Saturday when I was having some left over turkey and mashed potatoes you asked for some and ate a full plate of them so I don't think you dislike turkey and mashed potatoes but were just tired and overwhelmed on Thanksgiving.
Friday you went out with me to do a little bit of shopping (I'd like to note though that we didn't leave the house until 11:30 am, we were not doing any of the crazy black Friday shopping) and we had a good time hanging out. We got some Christmas shopping done and also got a few things for ourselves. I'm trying to explain Christmas presents to you and try to get you to understand that you can't tell people what we are buying for them so over the weekend I also had you help me wrap some of the presents. I had boxed everything up during your nap so that we could wrap when you got up and you really enjoyed opening the boxes to see what was in each before we wrapped them.
Yesterday we spent some time outside and you helped dad move some sticks in the yard that have come down during recent storms. I looked out the window and it was so cute to see your dad carrying this big branch and not far behind you were pulling a pretty big stick. I wish I'd been able to get the camera out in time to capture that one ... Today was all about work inside the house and I got the last of the window trim painted in your new bedroom so you are really close to being able to move into it. You and I are going to visit Grandma and Papa Sweat and Great Grandma and Great Papa Sweat this coming weekend while your dad has a treatment for his thyroid. When we get back he and I have to sleep in separate beds for a few days so he'll be sleeping in your room but I think we'll be able to move you into your new room after that. I'm so excited to put all the pieces together and finally give you a "big girl" room! I'm also excited to start putting together your sister's bedroom. It feels really different this time since we know we are having a girl I want to make it a little more girly than I did your nursery, however, I want to use most of the same things and just update with a couple of purple things. We'll see how it comes together. I'm also hoping that while we are with Grandma Sweat this coming weekend we can pick out fabric for your sister's quilt because I think it would be fun for you to be involved in that.
