What a great weekend we've just had! It all started on Friday night when we went to the Holt high school football game for homecoming. You were so excited to go to the "bootball" game although once we got there you were definitely a bit overwhelmed, not that we blame you. Daddy was carrying you as we walked in and his students kept stopping to say hi and you would just look at them. When we got to the bleachers we sat with Callie and Emma, Brian and Larissa and Brenda and CJ. You didn't interact too much with everyone but they are used to that. It was however funny to watch your reaction when Daddy and I took turns holding Emma ... you really weren't sure about that.
We left after the 3rd quarter because you were going to Grandma's for the night. You spent the day at Marcie's instead of Grandma's so she was anxious to see you. After we'd been there a few minutes you went to the potty and came out asking for an M&M since you'd gone to the potty. This surprised me because we haven't been doing that at home and you hadn't been at Grandma's in so long. Grandma had big plans for you on Saturday centered around making cut out "angel" cookies with Grandma and Papa. These are cookies that Papa usually only makes at Christmas time and have been named "angel" cookies because that is one of the shapes he uses. Every now and then though he'll make them at other times of the year and you guys made some pumpkins! Grandma has some pictures of you helping and it looks like it was a blast ... you were covered in flour and then crashed with Papa afterwards for a nap before coming home.
Tonight while I was making dinner you treated me to a backrub which was the best moment ever!! Daddy had a back massager out in the living room because his back has been bothering him and he showed you how it works. While I was cooking you came in and asked if I wanted a backrub. Of course I said yes but I figured we'd have to wait until I was done cooking, however, you had a different plan and moved a chair over behind me, jumped up and gave me a back rub. Wow!!
Before bed tonight we sent you to the kitchen to put your shoes away and you came back out carrying a sippy cup and told us you'd gotten your water for bed. My first response was "great job" but your dad quickly asked "how?" so I asked if you'd spilled any water and you said yes. So, you and I headed into the kitchen to clean up the water you'd spilled and figure out how you'd gotten your own water when you showed me the bottle of water that you'd somewhat successfully poured into your cup for bed and I had to admit it was a pretty smart move on your part.
Also, you are finally starting to say "I love you" back to us and sometimes saying it without any prompting from us. For the longest time all you would say was "OK" when we said that we loved you which was really funny. Quite often when you say it without any prompting you say "I love you, so much" with a big emphasis on the "sooo much."
I'm currently 17 weeks along in my pregnancy and you seem to be starting to comprehend what is going on but we still haven't had a real big conversation about it. We are waiting on that until we've had our next ultrasound and know what the gender is so we can start talking about your little brother or sister. Right now we've made comments and people have asked if you're excited so I know that you are aware something is going on but I'm also ok with you not getting it yet because I know you are going to have a hard time waiting (although it is going really quick!) I'm just starting to feel some movement from the baby although the movements aren't strong enough that daddy or anyone else can feel them yet.
