Happy 2nd Birthday

This morning you came into the bedroom and I said Happy Birthday and asked you how old you were and your response was "two" ... it took my breath away that you knew that answer, almost as much as the fact that you are two does. We had a great day today ... we took it easy this morning and then this afternoon you had a small party. You received presents in the mail from Grandma and Grandpa Sweat the other day and have been anxiously awaiting the chance to open them ... today was the day and you seemed to know it. All morning you kept coming over to me with presents in your hands and it was all we could do to convince you to wait until everyone was here for your party. Once everyone was here you had a great time opening your presents and have any number of great new things to play with.

Sofi and Tony Mittino came over and the three of you had a great time playing with all of your new toys, in particular the Elmo balloon that Grandma and Grandpa Lawatsch brought you - a 3 foot tall balloon of Elmo. You and Tony also really enjoyed playing with your bowling set from Grandma and Grandpa Lawatsch and your new blocks from Joel and Jessica.

Getting dressed for the day you had a really cute Birthday Girl t-shirt and I also bought you some pink tights and a pink skirt to wear with it, however, you were having none of the skirt so you instead wore your pink tights with jeans over them. Tonight when we were getting you ready for bed you didn't want to take off your tights and wanted to sleep in them. I guess we are entering that phase of you making your own fashion decisions and I have a feeling we are in for some interesting ones!

Inspecting cupcakes while mommy made your cake - you helped me take the cupcakes out of the baking tins and when you "accidentally" grabbed the top off of one you gave me this 'uh-oh' look and when I said "oh, what should we do now" you quickly replied "eat it?". You truly are a girl after my own heart!
