Sledding with Papa and Grandma

We've been in Wyoming since Tuesday and are having a great visit. The trip out here was exhausting but uneventful. Your daddy and I didn't take in to account getting the luggage from the car to the airport so we were fumbling with three bags, your car seat, my purse, a carry on bag, a stroller and you ... a bit much for two people! However, we made it and got to our flight on time and arrived in Denver a few minutes early. Grandpa Sweat was waiting for us at the airport and we went to lunch with him at Rock Bottom Brewery outside of Fort Collins before heading to Great Grandma and Grandpa Sweat's for a short visit. Tuesday was Grandma Sweat's birthday and she had to work so she was calling us every half hour to get an update and see when you were going to be in Cheyenne. As we came into Cheyenne we went by the hospital and she came out to say hello to us before we headed to their house.

On Wednesday we didn't have anything planned, however, it ended up being a great day. Grandpa and daddy made a sled for you (out of a cardboard box) and took you sledding at a hill near downtown Cheyenne. I went with Grandma to drop a couple of things off at the hospital so I only saw you do a couple of runs but you seemed to be having a good time. It was a good thing too because a storm blew in on Thursday (Christmas Eve) and we haven't been outside since then. Great Grandma Boomgarden is here for Christmas too and we wondered if she would be able to get here due to the storm - the airline actually flew her out of Fort Dodge a day early and put her up in a hotel in Minneapolis for the night so she was able to make it here. Great Grandma and Grandpa Sweat drove up on Christmas Eve when Grandpa Sweat went down to Denver to pick up Great Grandma Boomgarden. Apparently the drive north on I-25 wasn't very nice and the roads have been closed on and off since Christmas Eve so Great Grandma and Grandpa Sweat are going to stay another night and hope that the roads clear up.

You had a great Christmas and are making yourself right at home here - I guess it helps that there are more toys here than at home thanks to Grandma. It took you a little while but you've warmed up to everyone and actually voluntarily gave them hugs and kisses last night before bed. You get overwhelmed at times but seem to be having a good time. Grandma and Grandpa got you a motorcycle for Christmas and you saw it yesterday morning before anyone was up. I learned from our house not to ignore it so I let you jump on and you rode into Grandma and Grandpa's bedroom to wake them up. It has been a really fun visit so far and we have a couple more days to enjoy everyone's company. Unfortunately we won't be teaching you to ski this visit (due to the 50 mile an hour winds and below zero temps) but we'll have plenty of opportunities!
