Today it becomes official, our indian summer is over. Last week we had temperatures in the 70's, however, today we have snow. Fall / winter is here and we just have to deal with it.
First snowfall of the year

This week we made history for a reason totally unrelated to weather. The 2008 elections were this week and it was a historical presidential election. The Rupublican ticket had John McCain and Sarah Palin, she would have been the first female vice president. The democratic ticket was Barack Obama and Joe Biden. They won, which makes Barack Obama the first African American president. The nation is currently in a recession at the end of George W Bush's 8 years in office. We are also involved in 2 wars ... at this point anything would be better, but there is a lot of faith in Barack Obama and his ability to create change. I hope so. In my lifetime we have seen one other "recession" in the 80's, however, that was nothing compared to the Great Depression and what we could possibly be facing. I don't like to use this space to discuss politics, however, this weeks events just couldn't be ignored.

Right now I am sitting on the floor in the living room and you are doing everything you can to get in my lap / start typing. I'm trying to create barriers and distract you with your toys but you are pretty persistent. I'm trying to use one of your books, Cuddle Me by Chris Inns. This is a book with pages of animals and a mirror in the center. I love it because every page you lean right into the mirror and kiss your reflection. You did the same thing tonight with your reflection in the dishwasher ... you leaned in and started licking the dishwasher. It was pretty funny.

I'm adding a picture of your napping today. I'm not sure how you did it without being sore all day (although, maybe you are sore since you've been so crabby) but you just fell over and slept with your head between your legs. It was hilarious.

Napping today, not sure how that was physically possible

Daddy is the greatest!

Cousin Lissa Stephan last week ... she is 7 weeks younger, but look at that hair!
