This weekend you went to MSU for the first time. I feel sort of bad even writing that ... here you are, 7 months old and you've been to California but not over to MSU. That really brought home the fact that we need to take advantage of all the great things we have around here. We went to Kate Schroer's wedding on Friday night and you looked adorable. Her wedding was at the Alumni chapel on campus and it happened to be homecoming so there were people all over campus. What a great atmosphere. After the wedding we took you to spend the night with Grandma and Grandpa and they were so happy to see you. You actually stayed there until Saturday night because your dad and I went to Ann Arbor to go to the U of M game. We had an interesting discussion about supporting you in choosing schools. It really is important to us that you choose the university that is best for you and we will support you in that decision. We may joke all the time about one university being better than the other (MSU!!) however, we will both support your decision.
You are still close to crawling but not quite there. You can get your legs under you and even move them a little bit but then you can't figure out what to do with your arms. I know it won't be long.
You are working your way through all of the baby foods and so far seem to like them all. You were a little resistant to green beans and peas at first, but after a couple of tries you now enjoy them. Today we gave you macaroni and cheese (yes, they sell that as baby food, all mushed up) and you enoyed it!
Bath time has changed because you can now sit on your own in the tub, which also means you can now attempt to move around in the tub! It is so fun to play with you in there ... I give you two or three toys and you could spend the longest time just playing with them, one after the other. Daddy was giving you a bath the other night and you apparently face planted while in the tub, coming up with a mouth full of water. The experience scared your daddy and really reinforced for both of us how important it is to watch you in the tub.
