No, Thank You!
Lily has developed this habit of always saying No, Thank You! which I really appreciate, I mean it's great having a polite child. However, the way she uses it sometimes is hilarious, for instance this morning when she didn't want to get dressed or put on a diaper she kept repeating No, thank you, No, thank you ... where she used to just say No, No, No... It is hard to get mad at her when she is being so damn polite! Since she didn't want to get dressed this morning we compromised and I held her down to get a diaper on but then let her run around with only that on. As we got ready to go to Marcie's I asked if she was ready to get dressed and she said "No, thank you" so I asked her to put her coat on (expecting a fight) and she did it so we were off to Marcie's in a diaper and coat and nothing else. Good thing it was only 23 degrees out today :) Her reaction when her legs touched the COLD car seat was priceless she started saying "Jammies, Socks" over and over again so I reminded her that she had chosen not to wear them and wasn't it a bummer to be cold? When we got to Marcie's I explained our morning and watched as Lily started talking to Eliza (who's about 6 months older than her) and listened to Eliza point out every article of clothing that Lily wasn't wearing and then asked Lily if she was ready to get dressed - imagine that, she was!
