Today we went to Small Animal Day at MSU. This is a traditional spring activity for us and we usually meet up with the Mittino's for the adventure so we decided to do the same thing today. One of Jules' favorite parts of the day has always been riding the CATA bus around between the farms so she was quite disappointed when I looked online and saw that they were holding the entire event in one venue. However, Steve and I were not disappointed by that because it meant it was that much easier to take the stroller and we would hopefully stay warmer! Arriving at the pavilion this morning we discovered that even though it was all in one place they had some things going on outside so you still needed to be bundled up. Add to the cold the large number of people and Steve was not too thrilled about the whole adventure. He'd actually told Julie that earlier in the week and when she was talking with Jan about going to see the animals she said that she was so excited but her dad wasn't. All in all we had a great time in spite of the cold and the crowds. Lily loved the animals almost as much as Julie and was enjoying walking around (great thing when you're in a large crowd ;) She is currently in the phase of being VERY vocal if she is upset and threw fits every time we left one set of animals to move on to the next. When she wants to walk but you pick her up she thrashes around and screams so she was definitely a joy to try to move through the crowd! The girls got to pet cows, piglets, goats, sheep (including some lambs that were only a couple of days old), chicks, chickens, rabits and more.
