Tonight we went to dinner at Woody's Oasis which is a middle eastern restaurant in town. We've been on a bit of a hiatus from middle eastern during my pregnancy because the mere thought of pretty much anything there made me nauseous. Tonight when Steve suggested it for dinner it didn't make me nauseous so I figured we could give it a try and I actually really enjoyed it. Julie loves hummus and quite often has it for a snack at Grandma's and even here. So, we ordered our food and while Steve was at the counter picking it up Julie asked me if we were going to have pita and hummus, except she didn't quite say pita. I thought I heard what she said but for the heck of it decided to wait until Steve was back at the table to ask her to repeat herself and sure enough she asked him if she could have "some penis and hummus" (OK, I'm laughing right now even as I type this) All through dinner we kept correcting her but she kept asking for penis and hummus ... The evening digressed even more when we ran into Goodrich's to pick up some milk and as we walked past a bin of outdoor toys she saw and yelled "balls!"
Later as we were reading before bed the vocabulary lessons continued. We were reading Love You Forever and there is one part where the 2 year old flushes his mom's watch down the toilet and you turned to me and said "that wasn't very nice to flush her lawatsch" It brought back memories because you used to call Grandma's watch her lawatsch and I haven't heard that from you in a really long time.
Thank god I have this as an outlet to remember these hilarious evenings :)
