What has happened that I haven't posted in two weeks? Well, we took a trip to visit Grandma and Papa and Wyoming and it didn't go as well as planned and I'm still recovering from everything that we went through that weekend! It all started as a great trip away for you and I while daddy was having his thyroid treatment and was going to be radioactive. We were leaving on Friday morning and Thursday evening as we went to bed all was good ... then came 3:30 am when you woke up and I went upstairs for you to tell me that your tummy hurt. I assumed it didn't mean much and we both went back to bed for about 15 minutes before you were crying again that you'd thrown up. Daddy and I both got up with you and cleaned up both you and your room so that we could all try to get a little more sleep ... however, at about 4:30 you got sick again and before we knew it our 5:30am alarm was going off and we had to head to the airport. All morning while we were getting ready to go you continued to get sick and as we were leaving I was crying to daddy who said "you'll be OK, pull yourself together" which made me laugh and I told him that I knew I would be and I would pull myself together however, I was going to cry right now because I could while I still had him! So, you and I got into the car with you still sick and headed to the airport with a quick trip to Meijer to pick up some emitrol and pedialyte. You did a great job while we were driving and managed to puke into a towel for the most part!

We finally arrived at the airport and got ourselves into the airport and our luggage checked. However, while we were waiting in line in security you got sick again (thankfully I had brought a new towel with us to the airport) so we stepped out of line to wait while the line went down and you started to feel better. Before long we were on the plane and you were tired but doing OK and the flight went off without too much drama. You got sick a couple more times and then ended up falling asleep on me for most of the flight. All I could think during the flight was how happy I was going to be to see my dad when we got to Denver!

When we got to the airport Poppy was there with Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Sweat and we loaded luggage and hit the road for Fort Collins ... You nodded off a little bit but ate some applesauce when we stopped for lunch and were OK the rest of the way to Cheyenne. On Saturday morning you were looking better and you got better from there, continuing to get sick once a day the rest of the trip but not like the first day. However, on Saturday I got whatever bug you had and ended up in bed most of the day. After a few hours I couldn't keep anything down and was dehydrated when I started cramping / contracting so after you went to bed Grandma and I went to the hospital where we spent about 6 hours while I got IV fluids to rehydrate myself and waited for my blood pressure to come back down to normal levels.

On Sunday I spent most of the day sleeping, however, you were feeling much better and were able to go sledding with Grandma, Poppy, Great Grandma and Great Grandpa which made your day! Sunday evening we took it pretty easy and watched The Princess and The Frog which was the first time I've ever sat and watched a movie with you. It was fun to see your reactions to the movie and I definitely look forward to watching more movies with you. Monday we went back down to Fort Collins to spend the night before heading to the airport on Tuesday. While we were at Great Grandma and Great Grandpa's house you were in much better spirits and were bounding around playing with everyone! That night we went for a drive around town and looked at Christmas lights which you just loved. It was another one of those things that was so fun to see through your eyes. While the whole trip was exhausting I wouldn't trade it for the world and I know that I will cherish the memories and challenges of that trip forever!

Since we've been back it's been a whirlwind of holidays and we've altered some of our traditions due to time constraints. This year is the first year that we didn't go with Grandma and Papa Lawatsch to pick out Christmas trees ... in fact, we didn't even go to a Christmas tree farm, you and daddy went to Lowe's one night after he picked you up from Marcie's and you two picked out a tree! That night was fun though because we ordered pizza and decorated the tree which you really enjoyed. This past weekend daddy and I had our annual holiday party so you got to spend the night with Grandma which unfortunately ended abruptly on Sunday because she was sick with the same stomach bug you and I both had. Tomorrow Grandma and Poppy arrive for our Sweat family Christmas and we'll do round one of Christmas this weekend and then do the real Christmas next week with the Lawatsch's when Kristen is in town too!
