Tonight you were crying after I put you down to sleep and because this has been a regular occurrence lately your daddy and I have started ignoring you and letting you cry it out to save ourselves a dozen trips up the stairs every night. Finally I couldn't take it any more so I went up to see what you needed and you asked for your baby doll. I explained that you didn't need your baby because you had your Elmo, kitty and blankets in your bed. As I stood up you said "I'm going bye-bye" which led me to ask what you meant and you said "I'm going to a plane to see grandma and papa sweat because I love them" Awe ... you managed to melt my heart just as I was getting beyond frustrated with you! Of course I had to explain it is going to be a few more weeks before we go to see them.
On Monday night we went to dinner with Grandma and Papa Lawatsch when they got back from North Carolina where they were visiting Aunt Kristen. While we were driving to the restaurant Grandma was asking you questions about the baby and one of them was a question about if you knew the baby's name to which you replied "Pink Liza". As far as we can tell that is in reference to baby Eliza at daycare but I thought it was too funny that you want to name the baby "Pink Liza" It is fun that we are starting to talk a lot about the baby and watching your understanding of the situation. Tonight you and I took a shower and you said something about how the baby was making my belly get bigger. Of course you followed that up with a comment about having a baby in your tummy so I know you only have a limited understanding!
We are making a lot of progress in your potty training ... yesterday you made it all day at Marcie's with no accidents and today you pooped in your pants but went to the potty for everything else. You are so close and I really think you are excited by the idea of being a big girl and wearing big girl panties!
