Friday night we went to the Homecoming parade at MSU and made it through most of it before bailing to get dinner. It all started with a bang when two of the motorcycle cops at the beginning of the parade ran into each other. Everyone was OK and your daddy and I were laughing hysterically but had to quickly contain ourselves so that you would believe us that everyone was OK. During the parade you were a little overwhelmed and it was so fun to watch you take it all in. Your favorite part seemed to be the candy that was being thrown from some of the floats - you even got a tootsie roll from Coach Izzo. At the end of the parade your biggest observation was that "the marching band was loud".
On Saturday we went to the pumpkin patch with the Mittino's and were met there by Zach and Leigh and a couple of their friends. We walked out into the patch and everyone picked out their pumpkins. There were actually quite a few pumpkins and you guys seemed to have a really good time picking them out. Tony was put off by the "dirty" pumpkins and you quickly picked up on that and started turning down every pumpkin because it was dirty. It took us quite a while to convince you guys that we could wash off the pumpkins and they'd be fine. I loved watching all of you kids interact - when you came across a pumpkin that you liked you'd ask Tony to pick it up for you because they were "heavy" although I think you just didn't want to pick up the "dirty" pumpkins.
After we had our pumpkins we bought some cider and donuts and had a snack before coming back home for a chili dinner. Nate and Abby and Ben and Carrie all joined us for dinner and we had lots of chili, cornbread, cheesy potatoes, pumpkin pie and pear crisp before heading out for a bonfire and MORE food. You had a s'more at the bonfire but only took a couple of bites before giving it to me, either you didn't like it or you were so full from everything that you'd been eating that it just didn't taste good. No worries though, I can always eat a s'more. My favorite part of the evening had to be when you fell asleep in my lap out at the bonfire because I can't remember the last time you fell asleep while I was holding you and I really miss that part of you being a baby.
All in all we had a great weekend and I loved every minute of it ... until you woke up at 11pm on Sunday night but I guess I'll forgive you for a sleepless night!

I guess the good times really DO erase the bad, don't they? It sounds like a wonderful weekend!
