I don't know, what were you doing??

As you can tell, I didn't write anything for your 14 month post. I mean, really, what words are needed with that picture? If ever a picture tells a story that one is quite clear in conveying your independent, go get it, spirit. In addition, why is your toy in your mouth? I don't know, apparently that is the easiest way to carry things? Maybe you've spent too much time with Thumper? Maybe you really are being raised by wolves? Somewhere along the way you've decided to carry your toys in your mouth (to be fair, you did it when you were crawling as well, but then it made some sense. Now it is just weird)

As we look at you and see a little girl, not a baby, we've decided to only give you your pacifier when you are sleeping. Today was the first day that your daddy, Marcie and I were all on the same page. I've been taking it out of your mouth whenever possible for a few weeks now, but I was the only one. Over the weekend as you were talking around it your dad decided that it was time to give it up as well. Marcie said you did great today without it, however, you knew it was in your diaper bag, so whenever your diaper bag was within reach you went digging for your nook. Usually you are easily distracted so it doesn't take much to get you focusing on something else.

This weekend I finally set out to paint the repaired walls in your bedroom and as always that was easier said than done. First I had to get everything in your room together and either in the middle of the room or in the hallway. Once I did that I was able to start painting which involved priming 2 of your walls and your ceiling and then painting the walls and then the ceiling. It looks great now, no big cracks down the wall and your ceiling is bright white instead of an off white. Over the course of the last year you've picked up quite a few decorations for your room so as I put things back I'm being sort of selective about what goes where and you will end up with a sort of redecorated room. Not bad for a weekend's work!

During all of this you've been sleeping in the guest room in your pack and play since your crib won't fit through the door. Today, just as I thought we'd be able to put things back and be done with all of this craziness (your room would finally be done!) we received notice that your crib is recalled. Looks like you'll be sleeping in your pack and play for a few weeks while we go about getting a credit for this crib and buying you a new one. Urghh
