So last night Julie was enjoying being almost naked baby (she's not allowed to be naked baby on our furniture for obvious reasons) when she discovered that these hands she is always waving around in front of her do something else. They hold onto things. She kept grabbing her blanket and kicking / pulling it off (she really wanted to be almost naked baby). After a few minutes of this I gave her some links and she started waving them all over the place. Eventually we had to remove two of the links and just give her one to keep her from whacking herself in the face with the things. Tonight I was feeding her and she was holding her links and she kept hitting me with them. Now that we know we can put stuff in our hands it is definitely time to learn controlled movements!
We booked our flight to Colorado last night and will be going to see Grandma and Grandpa Sweat and Great Grandma and Grandpa Sweat over the 4th of July. I have so many memories of being with my grandparents over the 4th of July ... Grandpa playing Stars and Stripes forever on their old console radio. I also remember picnics of KFC at the bandshell in Iowa. I know Julie won't remember this 4th of July but I'm excited to spend another one with my grandparents! In addition this will be a year of memories for Steve. We are arriving in Colorado on the 4th which is when he arrived in Colorado when he moved out there 8 years ago. All in all we are certainly looking forward to this trip!
